Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) is the premier organization for all girls, building character, values, and skills for a lifetime. GSSJC was founded by Mrs. F. M. Law and Miss Corinne Fonde in 1922 in Houston. GSSJC is a community-based organization with an adult membership of more than 14,000 serving more than 58,000 girls. Membership is open to all girls ages 5-17 and to adults, both women and men, who subscribe to the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. GSSJC serves 21 counties in East Texas.
